I wish I could meet this artist. I never knew his/her name was Swoon. I love all of the pieces that I’ve seen by him/her. I love the pieces when they are brand new, but I also like watching the pieces as they decay or become less perfect like the one above. I wish Deuce 7 would visit our neighborhood and bless us with some art.
I don’t really notice the police anymore, since there are so many of them around. I did notice that there were 3 of them standing on the corner watching me take this photo a few days ago.

I don’t know if anyone noticed that there was actually a mobile precinct parked on Bedford and Lafayette for about 3 months (oct-jan ish.) Since I live on the corner of Bedford and Lafayette (basically right on top of the precinct) I finally asked the cops wtf was going on-
Apparently, people had been breaking into those projects up on Lafayette (Lafayette Gardens? I dont remember the name) and hauling ass down Lafayette and running into the subway stations on that side of the Bedford to hide/escape when the cops came. Thats also why the gate on that side of the station remains locked.
The cops were nice to have around, I was kind of sad when they left. At least I knew the 200 feet of that block was mostly-safe…
