Sometimes I wander along the deserted streets of northwestern Bed-Stuy and I’m always amazed at how much the area looks abandoned. Some of the streets look as if no one has been there for years. I know that this is not the case, but it looks that way.  Yesterday, I found myself on a street that was eerily quiet even though it was mid-day.  I stopped and asked myself “Why do you feel the need to check out these desolate side streets?” and as soon as the question formed in my head, something caught my eye.Â
It was Deuce Seven! The abandoned truck had been tagged in the front and on the side with Deuce Seven’s unforgettable style. I knew there was a reason I was drawn to that desolate side street!
Check out others’ photos of Deuce Seven’s work on Flickr because my pics don’t do his work justice.
His work is mesmerizing. I can stare at it for hours, because seeing it brings me so much happiness. Thank you, Deuce Seven.Â
If you’re not familiar with this extraordinary artist, you should be. The Village Voice did a piece on him not long ago. You can check it out here.
