It’s always fun to see brownstones with unconventional colors. It makes me wonder about the homeowner–how brave and creative you have to be to select a color like this when all of your neighbors have chosen more traditional colors.

    I’ve seen this “brownstone” quite a few times and I can’t help but think they bought the wrong color paint by accident, but finished the job anyway…

    Actually, it would be fine if they hadn’t also painted the steps and the fence red, too.

    I think that people who do this bring down the property values in the area. These house are called brownstones not candy canestones. You don’t see these bold colors in the more exclusive neighborhoods in the city…

    if fire-engine red houses will keep people who find it distasteful out of the neighborhood, then sign me up for a paint job. i’m wondering here, though, won’t the paint on the steps get all slippery when it rains?

    i used to live in a house painted electric blue. it was later sandblasted back to its original stone. this looked nice, but people had a much harder time remembering where i lived.

    At least they are taking care of their home ! Maybe they should try a modern art theme like Jackson Pollack ?!
