Pet-Stuy Fashion and Talent Show in Fulton Park
By The Changeling | June 4, 2007
The Pet-Stuy Fashion and Talent show held in Fulton Park on Saturday was great fun for an animal lover like me. I was able to meet a lot of nice dogs and as well as their human companions.
 Sophie relaxes in the grass.
The first dog that I met was Sophia. Sophie was dressed up as a Catholic school girl and although you can’t see it in her photo, she had her own cell phone clipped to her waist. A lot of people thought that Sophie looked like Britney Spears in one of her earlier videos, but her owner and I agreed that there was no way Sophie looked like that skank.Â
Sugar and Star model their clothes for the spectators.
I also met this duo. Sugar is on the left in a flowered shawl and Star is on the right with the pink shades, beret and shoes.  I was laughing so hard when I saw these cuties, because I knew that their clothing ensembles costs more than what I was wearing.  I was surprised to find out that the owner of these pooches is Wendy, the owner of the Lady of Bedford entertainment space located on the corner of Bedford an Lafayette. Small world.
Diamond sports the Malibu Barbie look.
Wendy had another dog named Diamond. It was kinda hot on Saturday, so Diamond was probably the most appropriately dressed out of everyone (human or canine) in attendance. She was wearing a two-piece bathing suit.
Mrs. B was a cutie who was so pretty and well-behaved. Her owner said that she was a diva.  Â
A Leftist or a dog with an oral fixation? You decide. Mrs. B turns a blind eye.
Mrs. B’s owner had another dog that spent the whole three hours gnawing on his left pant leg. The show’s host, a hilarious woman named Kodi Me’chele, began to call this dog a Leftist. It was apparent that the dog was used to doing this because the pants had a large hole in them, but the owner didn’t seem to mind.
 Zorba smiles for the camera.
This is Zorba, a 19-month old South African Mastiff (also known as a South African Boerboel). He was so friendly and so HUGE. Many spectators were drawn to him because of his beauty and amazing size. During the talent portion of the show, he demonstrated that he could help a person get up from the ground and I think he also demonstrated an ability to do addition or algebra or something. Anyway, he had better math skills than some people I know.
And the winners are 1st Place - Zorba (center), 2nd Place - Star (left) and 3rd Place - Sophie (right).
I got a chance to meet the organizer, Madeline, and I commended her for putting together such a fun show. She mentioned that they will be holding this event again next year, so make sure to keep an eye out for information on dates and registration deadlines. Next year’s show promises to be even bigger and better.

Everyone had such a good time. Thank you for putting up these wonderful pictures.
I do plan to put up a website for the Bed/Stuy Pet/Stuy as more pet events will be coming.
Thank you “Changling”
