Little By Little, A Block Is Changing

Scarano’s Myrtle Place development is slowly revealing itself. I’m happy that this development is approaching completion because the street level will have retail space and I’m hoping for a pharmacy and a decent grocery store. I wonder if it will be completed by the end of the year. The Scarano website said that it would be completed by November 2006. Clearly they’re a little behind schedule.
Next door there is a mini residential building going up. It’s located at 756 Myrtle and it’s not a Scarano project.   When this small builidng was breaking ground I thought that it was the beginning of the two large 7-story mixed-use buildings that the North East Brooklyn Housing Development Corporation (NEBHDCO) was planning for this block of Myrtle. It looks like it is a separate development altogether. Any idea when NEBHDCO is going to start/complete their development at this site?

I browsed the block for permits and they state that 756 Myrtle is the Scarano project:

Also, 1 Vernon Ave. is the other development, which looks to be affordable housing:

My mistake, then. The Vernon Avenue development (you can’t see it in the picture) is behind Myrtle Place and it is nearly complete. That’s the affordable housing building and it is not a bad looking building, either.
So the mini residential building that is in the picture is Scarano too?
That’s strange. What’s holding the NEBHDCO project up?

I don’t think 774, which i think is the mini residential project youre referring to, is a Scarano building from looking at the permits. I saw a different architectural firm’s name (BAC Group) on the permit.
