The Masque of Red Death is on its way.
KFC should be re-opening very soon. Now I have to admit that I used to love KFC and the biscuits and coleslaw are the best, but I’ve got to avoid this place.
It’s located on the corner of Bedford and Lafayette near the G train station, if you care. Now riders of the G who get off at Bedford-Nostrand will have the choice of exiting on Nostrand to the smells of doughnuts and Coolattas or exiting on Bedford to the smell of the Colonel’s Extra Crispy! If you find yourself being cajoled by the smells of KFC, and you’re tempted to drop by for a meal, just make sure your health insurance card is current.

bummer. a (good) deli would have been better…oh well, in time…
I live right across the street from that and, honestly, I’m pretty happy they redid it. I wonder if this one is going to have bulletproof glass at the counter too…
i bet not.
Hmmm. That’s an interesting question! Is the new and improved KFC going to have bulletproof glass or is the interior going to be restyled for the gentry? Let’s keep an eye out to see what goes down!
or if its going to have one of those awesome turnstile bulletproof glass thingies like it used to have. The places around here are super creative when it comes to glassing off the counters…
‘Scuse me for not seeing it somewhere, but how does one let you know about an upcoming community event, so you could possibly list it?
You can email me at thechangeling AT bedstuyblog DOT com
Zengine, Factoid Joe and I will try to get our emails posted over in the sidebar for future reference.
I think the should keep these chains out of Bedstuy we have too many already…
I’m kinda torn when it comes to my feelings about chains. I don’t think Bed-Stuy has too many chains; outside of Kennedy and Crown Fried Chicken, I don’t notice that many chains outside of the Fulton Street and Broadway areas (and even so, both of those areas have their fair share of independent shops). Many of the businesses I see in this neighborhood are of the local mom and pop variety, and the problem is that many of them don’t have the money to keep their businesses updated like this KFC. The smaller businesses will end up looking worn and dated and uncared for as the years go by. For me the aesthetics of business spaces trumps my feelings about their being associated with a larger chain.
I prefer Popeye’s.
I second popeyes, thought it even be worse for you than KFC.
Please boycott KFC!
I have to agree with Morgan…they should a much cooler shop, or better yet a coffee shop slash bookstore, We need more of those in Bed-Stuy!
If i see another 99cent store, liqour store with bullet proff glass and or a Kennedy or Crown chicken spot I am going to scream…Black folks the reason why these things are ion our area is b/c we do not speak out better I say boycott KFC….they are bad for the heart and our waitlines!!!
