The community board for Bedford-Stuyvesant is scheduled to meet the first Monday of every month. If they are sticking to the schedule then the next meeting would be on Monday, June 4th. I am unable to attend this month’s meeting, but if anyone else can attend, please let us know what issues were covered at the gathering. If possible, you can also mention our collective efforts to organize a clean-up day.
Meeting Location:
Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Plaza
1360 Fulton Street
Multi-Service Room (Basement)
If you would like to visit the CB3 webpage, the link is located under “Blogs and Sites We Like”.

where is it?
You know, it might help if I included the location! Forgive me for the omission.
OH goodness! I went and I left 3 hours in because they still hadn’t open up the discussion to community concerns. I did although find on the community board 3 website you can download a form requesting trees, now if I can just figure out how to get trashcans on more corners! There is another board meeting on Monday June 25th at 7pm.

Thanks so much for posting the date of the upcoming meeting. I can’t believe that they’re holding meetings that run longer than 3 hours. In that amount of time they should have been able to discuss and solve all of Bed-Stuy’s “challenges”.
The Board is more concerned with informing us of their vacation plans in that three hours and getting the free meal provided to them than addressing the “challenges” facing their community.
Thanks! I filled out a form online. The community board may get some revamping by some younger people getting involved. One who was up for a chair on the board is a 20 something year old lobbyist. Until there thanks for this forum! Will you be adding a ‘rental/real estate’ section any time soon?
Morgan, that is a great idea, and I would love to. Thanks for the suggestion. We might work towards that goal in the future. If I could figure out a way to incorporate it easily and efficiently, then I would definitely give it a try. I’ll look into it.
Thanks! Also for anyone who is interested, I emailed the “chief of forestry” who gave me a link to fill out a tree request online.

If you fill one out there it goes automatically to the nyc dept of forestry.
