The Jazzmobile Rolls Into Bedford-Stuyvesant
By The Changeling | August 27, 2007
The Macon Street Block Association (Macon Street between Patchen and Ralph Avenues) invites you to join them for an evening of jazz tomorrow, Tuesday, August 28th. This event is from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will feature the beautiful sounds of Jazzberry Jam, with Bertha Hope on piano, Kim Clarke on bass, “Sweet” Sue Terry on saxophone, Paula Hampton on drums and Ulysses Slaughter on vocals. To get a taste of Jazzbery Jam’s music and read about some of their previous performances click here.

This is going to be great evening to get out and enjoy some live outdoor music during the last weeks of summer. If your only exposure to jazz is the stuff they play on CD 101.9 then it’s high time you make a plan to broaden your experience. Music in general and jazz in particular is much more pleasurable when it is heard live, and we are fortunate enough to live in a neighborhood that has been providing more and more opportunities to enjoy live music. So come on out tomorrow night and join your neighbors for an exciting jazz-filled evening!

I went to high school with Sue Terry! She’s an amazing sax player. Looks like fun!
