I want to thank my college professor at the College of New Rochelle, SNR @ Restoration Corporation in Bedford Stuyvesant. She requested the return of Black History in the school's curriculm.

The community tours of Brooklyn was a part of the course's requirements. The empowerment I now possess is an enhancement of my desire to strive to be the best Afrikan-American I can be; teaching others in my community and elsewhere about their rich Afrikan heritage.

I am in awe of the art exhibits, architecture, dance groups, educational institutions, and historic preservation of Afrikan history that still exists in the community.

I am speaking on behalf of the many classmates I have discussed the tours and information with.
Thank you professor.
Keep up the good work and it will not be in vain.
and thank you to all of the empowered. Keep on keepin' on.

After learning about bedstuy blog from an NPR podcast, I've been reading your blog and learning more about my own neighborhood (and I've lived here for the past two decades!).
I just wanted to comment and thank you for posting a blog that reminds me there's always something to [re-]discover in BedStuy.
