Olivino Wine Shop Expands Into Bed-Stuy

Olivino on Fulton Street in Clinton Hill
Sometimes dreams do come true. Witness the opening of Olivino Wines in Bed-Stuy. The new Bed-Stuy Olivino is located at 426D Marcus Garvey Boulevard at Macon Street and it is open daily. If it has anything like the nice selection and friendly staff of the Clinton Hill shop, then Bed-Stuy has really scored a winner.

The fine selection at Olivino Clinton Hill

I haven’t gotten the chance to visit the new Olivino shop, but just last week Alexa 11221 and I were talking about the difficulty we’ve had trying to get a good bottle of wine in Bed-Stuy. She, like a lot of other people I asked, has been ordering her wine from Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan, and I was just about to do the same, but now that I know we’ve gotten our own Olivino, I’ll make the trip over to the shop and purchase my wine in Bed-Stuy. I never thought I would ever see the day!

I’ll post pics of the new outpost and give a full review soon.

I’m THRILLED! It’s even just a short bus ride from my house!

Even though I love Heights Chateau’s selection, I am really eager to patronize a local wine place (that has something more on offer than the usual Australians + Californians).

olivino has wonderful wine but the woman who owns it runs hot and cold when it comes to customer service.

every time i went into the one in clinton hill, the owner was bordering on rude, as if i was wasting her time with my business. i always felt like she couldn’t get me out of there fast enough, even though i kept the small talk to a mininum - and in the end, a bare mininum. the other salespeople were always friendly and helpful. others have told me that they’ve experienced one or the other of her moods. either she loves you or she doesn’t!

I must say, I did experienced one of her moods. My family and I were walking up Fulton St. when the owner, her dog and I believe one of her employees were closing up shop. We politely spoke and told her thanks for bringing her business to Clinton Hill she sort of brushed us off and walked ahead while her employee smiled and chat briefly with us. The wines are awesome though so that sort of makes up for her being rude and you don’t have to deal with her all the time.

This is great news and I’m thrilled to be giving my money to a local wine shop not lugging it home Manhattan where Snooty McSnooterton owns a liquor/wine store near my office. I can only hope The Greene Grape will follow suit. They’re really great in there plus they deliver. Delivery of tasty fermented grape beverages is always a plus.

Re Olivino: wow. that is unfortunate. i realize owning your own business is stressful. good rapport with the clientele are essential in maintaining that business. it’s not hip to be rude…

I stopped in Olivino yesterday and found the owner and her staff quite pleasant. They’re having a wine and cheese tasting on Saturday from 6-9pm.

Went to Olivino last night to pick a little red and white. I was very pleased with the selection. They’re still setting up shop but it looks like it will be cute and ready for Sat’s wine tasting. I hope they’re ready for the crowd.

Well, i must say i just bought two bottles of wine (red & white) from this new addition to Bed Stuy and i would rather patronize Olivino than some of this rude liquor wanna be aka wine stores in the area. I found the new business very nice…good selection and they even deliver…check that out! I wish Olivino in Bed Stuy nothing but great positive energy and the best.

I purchased a nice South African wine there about a week ago. I forgot to check to see if they have ice wines (my favorite). I’m really psyched about having wines delivered to my door from a vendor in Bed-Stuy.
