Bed-Stuy Blogade Thank You

By The Changeling | October 2, 2007

dsc01131.JPGThank you to all of the people who made it out to the blogade event in Bed-Stuy this Sunday. I had a wonderful time! It was great meeting neighbors and fellow bloggers.

I think I’m supposed to be able to name everyone in the picture above. Let’s see…from left to right you have Tracy’s husband (sorry I forgot you’re name!), Wes in white (Wes, email me!), Tracy wearing shades (and a fellow Dukie!), Jose in the cap, Nikima Frenche of Le Chateau de French Day Spa with the white collar, Joanna (Alexa 11211) of the Bed-Stuy Blog in the black. Beside Joanna is Katrina and behind her Christina, and the young lady with the glasses in the doorway is Justine from Greenpointers. Sarah is in the middle and beside her is Reid from Iluvpork.com, behind Sara is Louise Crawford from Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn. Behind Louise is Saucytart, who happens to be a fellow North Carolinian (Whoo-hoo!). Beside Saucytart and hidden behind Reid is Eleanor of Creative Times and her s.o. Mike. The guy flashing the gang symbol is Rob from The Luna Park Gazette. Behind him is Andrew and Nina. Beside Nina are Jeremy and Luis (in shades) of BushwickBk. Erin and Linnea of dotdotdot are on the end. Did I miss anyone? Oh yeah, you can’t see Xris, the Flatbush Gardener because he’s taking a photo from the other angle.
***CORRECTION***I didn’t mention that Sarah is from the blog The Brooklyn Nester.

There’s Xris in the red Fl@tbush tee-shirt.

That’s me on the left and Alexa11221 on the right doing the host thing. Thanks to Xris for the photo.

For those of you who couldn’t make this event, you can redeem yourself by attending next month’s blogade event being held in (drumroll please) BAY RIDGE! Rob from The Luna Park Gazette will play host. See you there!

Le Toukouleur! I chose this place for the event because I think that the French African food is excellent. Pardon me for not mentioning the restaurant’s name in the post. :)

We had a good time, though when I ordered the croque monsieur I didn’t think I’d get a grilled cheese sandwich with some ham on it. I will reserve judgement for when we have the actual African food, since Luis read rave reviews about the place.

    Thanks for having us, P!

“croque monsieur” is “french grilled cheese,” basically. Now you know. There’s not actually a lot of African food on the brunch menu, try going at dinner time.

I forgot to mention that “Tracy’s husband” = Kijana (pronounce that j like a y).

Sarah, sorry for the omission! I didn’t mention that Sarah (in the middle of the group pic) is from The Brooklyn Nester (http://thebrooklynnester.blogspot.com).

And Carmen, I really like New Hanover County and Pender County. I’ve thought about getting a second home there.

Changling- I’m also considering buying a place back in new hanover county somewhere, prob Carolina Beach since wrightsville is SO overpriced now. I was actually just down there two weeks ago for my best friend’s wedding in Southport…I stepped off the plane and the humidity hit me like a ton of bricks. And people complain about the heat HERE!
