Hollywood Comes to Bed-Stuy
By The Changeling | October 2, 2007

I just got some information from True, the owner of Stizzy Bar and Lounge that a movie crew has been filming in some of his properties around Lewis and Macon Street. He send in these pics of crew at work.
The movie is called “Uncertainty” and it stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt. According to IMDB it is still filming, and the synopsis says that it is “A two-paneled drama about a New York City couple who make a life-changing decision over a Fourth of July weekend.” It should be in theaters sometime next year. You can find out more about this movie on the IMDB website.
A film crew steadies the shot on Lewis Avenue.
True said for tax purposes they had to shoot one day on a set, so after they finished filming on his property, they recreated one of his rooms on a movie set (above) and continued shooting. Cool.
True has been working hard to get more film crews to become “aware of the benefits and ease of working in the community, so that we can start bringing in a larger share of the city’s very lucrative [film] production business.” I wholeheartedly support that!
