Third Annual Bed-Stuy Alive!

This weekend marks the start of Bed-Stuy Alive!, a neighborhood-wide celebration that invites you to “experience the tastes, sights and sounds of Bedford-Stuyvesant.” This event includes the Taste of Bed-Stuy, which offers visitors and residents the chance to enjoy fine dining in Bed-Stuy, and the Studio Strut, in which Bed-Stuy artists open their studios to the public on Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th. The week-long celebration culminates with the annual house tour on Saturday, October 20th.
You can view the 2007 Taste of Bed-Stuy and Studio Strut map here. It looks like it is going to be an fun event. I’ve already purchased my house tour tickets and I’m going to try to get to as many artists’ studios as I can. It’s great to know that there are people in Bedford-Stuyvesant working to organize events like these in the neighborhood.

you’ll see the places that are participating in the studio strut. Some of the locations are studios, others are galleries, and still others are businesses that are serving as galleries for artists’ works. It looks like there are about 25 locations that are involved in the studio strut.

Not related to bed stuy alive, but related to dining: new company who delivers (cheap!) and healthy food to our neighborhood. Delivery starts Dec 3
