Who: The Brooklyn Queens Land Trust is organizing a health fair, “Gardens Make Healthy Neighborhoods.”
When: Sunday October 7, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Where: Von King Park , corner of Lafayette and Tompkins Avenues (G train to Bedford-Nostrand; B38 or B43 bus).
What: An event highlighting the contributions of neighborhood gardens to community health: exercise, fresh air, camaraderie; good food without preservatives, artificial coloring, or toxins. This fair will feature gifts; music; vendors; speakers; information tables from community organizations including Department of Health and Mental Health; Just Food; and more.
