The neighborhood is pretty good. I haven't had any problems, and I have been there for a year. I actually heard about the aforementioned issue through neighbors and the distribution of fliers. Although it's a horrible situation, there was a little solace in knowing that the community is aware of problems in the area and willing to work together for improvement.

The building is city owned?! How ridiculous. I actually live on this block, so I see the monstrosity daily.

There were reports last winter of people hiding in this building and trying to lure kids there. We had a huge neighborhood campaign regarding the incident, but all has been quiet since.

I remember that you pointed out the unhaunted twin building across the street. I wish I had thought to take a picture of it for comparison.

It's on Madison & Lewis, diagonally across from the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

The sidewalk is broken because there was a dumpster there and when they removed the dumpster they broke the sidewalk. It's been like that for MONTHS!

What I said about the sidewalk was that when I had to cross the broken part I always thought of the scene in Uncle Tom's Cabin where Eliza crosses the river by jumping from one ice floe to another.

This is a city-owned building, which I suppose means that it will eventually be fixed up. And adds to the outrage.

The building on the other side of Madison (facing it) is almost identical in size and design and looks great.

It is kind of sad to see these pictures. There is no excuse to allow a building to go to pieces (literally) like this.
