Holiday Bazaar/Fundraiser for Maria Rose Doll Museum & Cultural Center
By The Changeling | November 30, 2007

A holiday bazaar/fundraiser is taking place in Queens every weekend until the end of the year. I recently received their invitation for vendors. Since there are so many people in Bed-Stuy who are into arts and crafts, I thought it might be something that several of you would be interested in. Here are the details:
The Maria Rose Doll Museum & Cultural Center will open in Saint Albans, Queens, NY in late Spring of 2008.
It will be located at 187-11 Linden Blvd and will be the showcase for hundreds of beautiful dolls and doll accessories collected by Naida Njoku, a life long resident of St. Albans. Mrs. Njoku, a retired nurse has been collecting dolls from all over the world since she was a girl. Her greatest desire is to use her international doll collection to teach children and the community about other cultures and the arts, such as painting and opera. There will be a variety of programs for that purpose.
To help raise funds towards this project, a Holiday Bazaar will be held every weekend starting Friday, November 30th until December 30th.
They are looking for vendors offering a variety of holiday gift items for shoppers. Craftspeople and those who give workshops are welcome too. (You must bring your own table and the fee will be $75 for each weekend.) They also need sponsors and volunteers!
There will be a holiday display including many of the dolls. So please come out and join them! They would love your support.
If you can help or want to set up a table please contact Celeste Glascoe-Njoku at giftspecialty@aol.com
