I would also like a recommendation for a good message. Or a general idea as to which place is the best to visit.

same here. i would love good massage place in the area! i have heard very good things about nu yu however i’m not sure what services the people who recommended it had when they were there so any insight would be awesome. and while i’m at it i’d love to know of a good mani/pedi joint nearby as well.

Any idea of the regular prices of these things. I’ve heard massages can normally go for $60-70 for half an hour which seem kind of high.

Anyone know what the atomsphere is in any of these places? How big are they, and how is the staff.

Le Chateau De Frenche Day Spa is great. My service was breath taking. The environment was relaxing and serene. Nikima is not only a joy but very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. The tea service is a must have. I Highly recommend you visit.

Hibiscus Day Spa is a wonderful place for couples to relax and enjoy one another’s company or to just have ladies’ night out. The Champagne spa package is one to experience. You will not regret it.

I like nu yu for manicures and pedicures. They have a pretty cool and intimate setting.

Everyone talks about how great these places are but what do they cost for most services. Is this really a luxury and not for the average person?

If you want to see some regular prices, just click through to the websites of Hibiscus Day Spa, Le Chateau de Frenche Day Spa and Private Tea Room and Yin Yang Yoga, because they are listed there. I didn’t see prices on the Lord & Whisper site or on the Nu Yu website, so perhaps someone who has visited these places could comment on them.

I went to Le Chateau de Frenche Spa today for the first time and I was really impressed. I’ve been to mainstream spas like Bliss and I have to say the ambiance, service and personal touch of Le Chateau blows the others out of the water. Very nice and extremely calming. The tea and cake at the end of my facial was an unexpected nice touch. I highly recommend going.

Today was my second visit to Le Chateau de French Spa and I am very pleased to say that though the services were discounted to at least half the normal rate, the same great quality of service was had. I had a great facial and left feeling calm and beautiful.

We should all take advantage of this great opportunity to be good to ourselves! I love that we have options within walking distance and that we can be pampered while keeping our money in the hood. I am a regular at Le Chateu for facials and pedicures (see blog entry for details: http://www.bedstuyblog.com/2007/08/13/spotlight-le-chateau-de-frenche-day-spa-private-tea-room-2/)and I like Rose at Hibiscus for massages; haven’t yet visited the other I but surely will soon.

I would like to say thank you on behalf of the spas and wellness centers that took part in the
Bed-Stuy week of spa and wellness event because of you all it was a huge success.
Thank you all for coming out and taking the time to care for yourselves. We met many new guests and their friends and we all look forward to continue caring for you.

Recommend: YIN YANG YOGA on Myrtle

I learned about yinyang yoga from this blog and
visited their beautiful and serene studio on Myrtle near Nostrand yesterday. Finally, I have a yoga ‘home’ in Brooklyn - no need for me
to trek into the city just to get my flow on!!

While I have a few years of practice under my belt, the class included people of all levels including beginners, and the teacher was adept at
safely guiding us through the poses with suggested modifications depending on skill level and simply how each of us was feeling that day.

Complimentary tea was offered after class which allowed for easy conversation with the teacher and other students. Invaluable and truly community building.

Their intro special for new students is also a great deal!! Budget friendly!!
