I almost forgot to mention this! Thanks to Clinton Hill Blog and Brownstoner for reminding me!
For those of you who celebrated the holiday season with real trees, you can take advantage of Mulchfest this weekend. On Saturday, January 5th and Sunday, January 6th, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. you can bring your trees to Von King Park and receive mulch in return. Participants are encouraged to bring bags to take advantage of the free mulch provided. Remember to take all lights, ornaments, and decorations off of your tree prior to drop-off.
If you miss Mulchfest, you can recycle your tree by leaving it at the curb. The Department of Sanitation will collect for composting clean holiday trees left at the curb from Thursday, January 3rd through Wednesday, January 16th, 2008. Again, remember to remove all lights, ornaments and stands before placing your trees at the curb.
