Upcoming TNR Workshop

I know that this is taking place in Park Slope rather than Bed-Stuy, but some of you have expressed interest in becoming Master Trappers (is that what they’re called?) like Jimmy Legs, so I thought that you would be interested in attending this workshop. It’s FREE!

Workshop: “Trap-Neuter-Return: How to Manage a Feral Cat Colony” (instructed by Slope Street Cats & NYC Feral Cat Initiative)

Saturday, March 1st, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

LOCATED AT:
Park Slope Food Co-op
782 Union St (between 6th &7th Aves)
Brooklyn, NY
RSVP to Neighborhood Cats at 212-662-5761 or
headcat@neighborhoodcats.org

NOTE: There is no fee for the March 1 workshop – you just need to RSVP!

Come learn how to care for the feral and stray cats in your community and make use of the many resources now available to assist you. All steps in setting up a managed colony will be covered, including establishing good community relations, feeding, building and placing shelters, arranging vet care, finding recovery space, safely handling feral cats, and trapping (with an emphasis on conducting a mass trapping of an entire feral colony at once).

All workshop attendees will become TNR certified and NYC residents will gain access to no-cost spay/neuter and trap rental. Join the over 1000 caretakers trained to date!

  3. Jimmy Legs says:

naw i just got hooked up with some folks who are. i’ve been meaning to do this forever but every time i was free for it, it would be held in the bronx or something. i’m signed up now! of course, i’m starting to run out cats to fix on my block…

  4. Alexa11221 says:

You can come work on my block. ;-)

I have to go to a baby shower that day … don’t think I will make it back to Brooklyn by 3 pm.

I need the no-cost spay neuter resources like whoa.

  5. Jimmy Legs says:

Alexa, without promising too much, if you know of a feral colony and have something like backyard access to it, i might be able to hook you up with these folks. i think they are looking for TNR ops around this area; instead they have been going to staten island and canarsie to get ‘em. and i KNOW we have plenty right here. email me if you have any leads! jimmy at jimmylegs.com
