RENTALS
rental032808.jpgPick of the Week (#4)

#1 — $1400 — 1 br: Here’s a nice garden apartment with a decent sized backyard. Decatur and Malcolm X Utica AC

#2 — $1150 — 1 br: Oh man, look at this ad. I’m not sure if they really want to rent this place. The pictures are a complete turnoff. Are those rolled up carpets in the backyard?
MacDonough and Marcy Nostrand AC

#3 — $1799 — 2 br: This looks like a Comfort Inn sans the comfort. When I first spotted this building, I thought it was a group home or some sort of building filled with people who are “getting their lives back together.” The units on the back of the building will have a good view of the bootleg DVDs that are offered for sale in Food Dimensions parking lot, so they’ll be able to shop for movies from the comfort of their own balconies. Vernon and Stuyvesant Myrtle JMZ

afro-pick.jpgPICK OF THE WEEK!
#4 — $1450 — 1.5 br: This is a great apartment–bamboo floors, exposed brick and a new kitchen. It’s a stone’s throw from Fulton Street and the express train, so if you’re considering this one, you’d better act quickly. Macon and Verona Place Nostrand AC

SALES
marcypde.jpgMarcy and Vernon (#1)

#1 — $575,000 — 1.5 br: This unit is the most expensive in this small, new construction building on Marcy. It has 1.5 baths. There are three other units in the building (all with 1 br/1 bath) that are priced well under 400K. I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this one–I hope that this place won’t have to turn rental.
Marcy and Vernon Myrtle-Willoughby G

#2 — $649,000 — 2 family w/commercial space: Slowly Nostrand Avenue is starting to improve. Please purchase this property and add to the improvement of the area. I’m not sure what type of store is most needed on this block, but I do know that this area is quite busy and gets a considerable amount of foot traffic.
Gates and Nostrand Bedford-Nostrand G

#3 — $475,000 — 1 family: This is not Bed-Stuy, is it? Since when do we have little gingerbread cottages like this in the neighborhood? Although they didn’t include any interior shots, I like the outside of the house, and it’s priced reasonably enough so that you can do that 100K interior reno that I’m sure this place will require.
Decatur Street Ralph C/Halsey J

#4 — $599,000 — 2 family: This little blue house looks cute, but I wish that it were priced a little cheaper. It’s got a two bedroom/2 bath owner’s duplex and a one bedroom rental unit on the top floor. I like this section of the neighborhood because it’s pretty close to some of the places I visit in Bushwick. There’s an open house on Sunday at noon. Willoughby and Stuyvesant Myrtle JMZ

#2, the photo is WEAK but i think that’s an old (original?) stone wall in the back yard! $1150 for a garden apt, not to far from the subway, not bad!! yes, they probably shoulda cleaned up a little before taking pictures and the ceilings are gonna be super low. but i haven’t seen ANY garden apt this cheap in foreva.

Is that what it is? A stone wall? I thought that it was a pile of rolled up carpets covered in plastic or cobwebs. People should really take a look at their photos before they post them. Since the price is right this apt. should have been rented by now. I think the photos must’ve scared folks away.
