Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knows what the feeling out there is for a lounge/bar in our area? I am thinking about opening one. I live on Macon/Throop/MG and was thinking of something in that area.

Personally I think that we need somewhere to hang out that is in the hood, what do you all think? Do you think I will have a regular group of clientele? What type of fare would you prefer?

@JimmyLegs — I live in deep central Stuy (just about 1 mile from anything of interest) and take buses all the time. Since the B38 ltd is going to make most local stops in Bed Stuy it shouldn’t be a problem. The “express” part of the route is through Clinton Hill/Ft Greene.

In regards to the crappy G train service –

The Committee on Transportation in the City Council will be holding a hearing on Tuesday, April 8th, at 1pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall about Res. No. 1262 (Resolution calling the MTA to immediately improve service on the G line and not to implement any additional service cuts.)

They are looking for members of the public to testify.

Yeah they’re pretty good in the morning, I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes for a train, but I have experienced those mysterious “express” trains blowing by Classon in the morning but there’s always a train right behind it so it’s not so bad.

I agree with Rich. The “express” G trains aren’t really express. It’s a delayed G train that needs to skip multiple stops to catch up.

The G train is great in the mornings–I’ve noticed that that one comes every 5 minutes or so between 8 and 9am. Other than that it’s still hit or miss trying to catch one.

is there info about limited-stop buses somewhere? this is intriguing/disconcerting to me. on one hand i love the idea of a bus that covers some real ground as opposed to inching along because it has to stop on every block. but what about all the people who get skipped over? will some buses remain ‘local’? i ask especially cuz a friend of mine is poised to move into deep bed stuy and there’s nary a train in sight, so buses were to be the saving grace.

I don’t think those G “express” trains are really express… it seems like they’re just running them that way to catch up when trains are delayed…
