I recently received a request from Evan O’Connell, the program coordinator at Into the Outside, a Brooklyn-based educational nonprofit agency. The fourth graders he works with are currently studying the history of Bed-Stuy, and are seeking interview subjects who would be able to speak to the history of the neighborhood.

Does anyone have contacts or information on organizations that might be interested in partnering with the students on this oral history project? Are you a longtime resident who would like to add your experiences to this oral history? If so, then please contact Mr. O’Connell at the email address or phone number below.

I don’t know anyone per se however, I am director of an after school education program for middle schoolers in Bed Stuy and my kids were working on a very similar project. I would love to collaborate with Mr. O’Connell if at all possible.

Evan, you mentioned that you wanted to get in touch with the Brownstoners of Bedford-Stuyvesant. I have a link to their website, but the website doesn’t have any contact information on it.

Does anyone know how to get in contact with them?
