Bedford-Stuyvesant Artists’ Association and Fulton Art Fair, Inc. Host Upcoming Art Auction

By The Changeling | April 23, 2008

besaalogo.jpegThe Bedford-Stuyvesant Artists’ Association (BeSAA) in collaboration with the Fulton Art Fair Inc., will be hosting its first fundraiser art auction, Saturday, May 3rd from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Central Brooklyn Multi-Service Center located at 1958 Fulton Street (between Ralph and Howard) in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The art work to be auctioned off has been donated by artists, both emerging and famous, local community leaders and celebrity patrons. These community leaders and celebrity patrons are not artists by profession, but they have been gracious enough to honor us with a safari into their soul to capture some special creation just for this event. Bidding on all art work will be both live and silent.

Tickets are $20.00 and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Listing of participating “celebrity” artists is as follows:

Jackie Mason - Broadway star & comedian; Brenda Fryson - Chair of Community Board # 3; Ella McNair – retired FDNY Lieutenant (highest ranking black woman in the FDNY) ; Raoul Felder - divorce attorney extraordinaire; Paul Van Linden Tol - Director, Macon Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library; Dordy Jordain - Executive Director of the YMCA Bedford-Stuyvesant Branch; Wayne Devonish - Chief Operating Officer of the Central Brooklyn Community Services Corporation; Father Christopher Coleman, Assistant Pastor, Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church and Dr. Hilda Hucherson - nationally renowned expert and author in the field of women’s health, co-director of the New York Center for Women’s Sexual Health, and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Associate Dean for Diversity and Minority Affairs at Columbia University Medical Center.
