    Damn, right during work hours.

  2. Jenn says:

YIPPEE!!!! Right on my day off!!!

  3. newbie2 says:

Does this replace the market that was on Lewis across from Bread Stuy?

Agree that the hours are not good for those of us with a 9 – 5.

  4. Alexa11221 says:

no, it doesn’t replace the youthmarket. It’s another market, run by a different organization (there are at least two groups that manage greenmarkets in NYC).

I thought its was odd that it’s over right about the time people are returning from work, though.

  5. Richard says:

    Who runs this market?

  6. DaveinBedStuy says:

Wish it ran another hour. many people don’t get home before 6.

  7. BedStuyNative says:

Cool. Guess I’ll have to sneak out early on Fridays.

  8. Melissa says:

Farmers Market hours are the way they are because of the commute back to the farm, 2+ hours. And since many farmers have multiple market days or have to get up at (or before) the crack of dawn, they unfortunately cannot stay too late.

It would be great if we could get the bodega owners to carry local produce during week.

Note: Only farmers markets run by Council on the Environment of NYC are called Greenmarkets.
