RENTALS
#1 — $2500 — 4 br: Other than having the messiest kitchen and den in the world, there’s nothing remarkable about this 4 bedroom. Seems like a tight layout for the money. Tompkins and Vernon Myrtle-Willoughby G
#2 — $700 — 2 br: Something’s fishy here. It says the apartment is near tennis courts (where?), near water sports (you mean open fire hydrants?), horseback riding (in Bed-Stuy?), fishing, etc. Where is this magical neighborhood? The place is described as fully furnished–sheets, towels, kitchen utensils, and maybe even a piano–which in every other state in the union would mean that you’re not renting, you’re housesitting. PICK OF THE WEEK!#3 — $1600 — 2 br: Maybe it is because the last couple of evenings have been feeling like autumn that I picked this orange colored apartment for Pick of the Week. I think that I’ve seen this listing before, but I can’t remember whether I selected it, so I’m selecting it today. There’s only one bedroom photo here, so that may mean the other bedroom is really a closet. It might be worth it just to have that nice backyard space. Of course, these evenings, you’d better have your chiminea handy.

#4 — $1800 — 2.5 br: This is great looking apartment, but the description is wrong. After looking at the floor plan, I’d consider this a one bedroom with an office and a storage area rather than a two bedroom. It’s perfect for a couple but I’m not sure I’d consider it roommate friendly. Be sure to check out the “designer” bathroom.

SALES
#1 — $369,000 — 1 br: This is so cute and so affordable! The only drawback is that it is on the smallish side and there’s no outdoor space. The upside is that the maintenance is rather low and there’s that 421A tax abatement. Clifton and Nostrand Bedford-Nostrand G
#2 — $675,000 — 2 family: A reader sent me some information about a FSBO on his block. I’m including it in the re listings this week because he, like so many of us, wants the home to be purchased by some nice family who will move in and take care of the building. This is a FSBO, and as is often the case, there’s no website or Craiglist post to go with it. No, you have to house shop the old fashion way with this one. You have to go over there and look at the house and knock on the door and the owner might let you in for a look. According to the tipster, the place has some nice details left but is in need of some serious work.
