Cultivating Healthy Community Workshop

The Hattie Carthan Community Garden invites you to attend a “Cultivating Healthy Community” workshop facilitated by plant and sound medicine practitioner, community food educator, and author of “A Time for Healing,” Yonnette Fleming.
Date: September 6, 2008
Time: 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Place: Hattie Carthan community garden (corner of Lafayette & Marcy Aves.)
Travel by Train: Take the G train to Bedford/Nostrand, exit through the Nostrand Avenue exit and walk one block east (in the direction of traffic) along Lafayette toward Marcy Avenue.
Travel by Bus: Take the B38 to Lafayette /Marcy Aves
The goal of this workshop is to provide community members with a comprehensive approach to the issue of health disparities and public health. We will discuss what a disparity is in layman’s terms, learn about public health and identify major patterns of healthy communities.
Herbal beverages and healthy foods will be available.
