Something to Think About This Thanksgiving

Lest one think that he may reach for seconds and thirds at the Thanksgiving table without any repercussions, the fine folks on Franklin Avenue have installed a sidewalk scale to remind you to take it easy on the turkey (or vegan turkey) and stuffing. It is always helpful to have a visual reminder of the price you pay for overindulgence.

And don’t even think about stealing it, Chubb Rock–it’s chained to the fence.

Are you sure this was really for thanksgiving or did you make it up. I don’t see any signs.

Actually, I stumbled upon this scale a couple of weeks ago, right after Halloween, I think. I can’t figure out why it was just sitting there, chained to the fence. Why would someone place a scale on the sidewalk? I just assumed it was a call for responsible eating during the holidays. :)

Hey Irving, that’s the best idea. Just go to the gym before you eat and then you can have at it all evening and wake up with no overeater’s guilt on Friday!
