Doing the real estate picks is a bit like that movie Groundhog Day in which Bill Murray relives the same events over and over. I’m experiencing deja vu with the POTW. Didn’t I list this one before or is it just that Brooklyn apartments all look the same?
RENTALS

#1 — $1800 — 3 BR: I just love the French doors in this apartment and I also love the size of the rooms, but that is one ugly kitchen. Please don’t ever put stainless steel appliances next to white appliances. It just isn’t right. And what’s the deal with that bricked over section in the the living room? Was that once a fireplace? I’m feeling thrifty this week, so I’m going to say that you should be able to find cheaper 3 bedrooms around here. With matching appliances.

#2 — $1690 — 3 BR: Like this one. Notable only for having 2 bathrooms and being on the top floor, this plain looking apartment is easy your wallet (if you split it two or three ways). The ad doesn’t specify where this is on Putnam, but I’d guess it’s near the Nostrand AC area. If it’s around Bedford then I’d go for it. I have a sneaking suspicion that this might be some hideous new construction building.
Putnam Avenue Nostrand AC
PICK OF THE WEEK!
#3 — $1350 — 1 BR: A bit expensive but it’s a nice looking reno. It’s in the easternmost reaches of the neighborhood, so you’re near the convenience of Fulton street and only a few blocks away from the cool shops on Lewis and Stuyvesant. MacDonough and Ralph Ralph C
#4 — $1500 — 1 BR: These rank as some of the sorriest photos in real estate posting history, but I included this link to 191 Halsey because it is a condo project that has gone rental. Has anyone been inside of one of these units? Are they worth the rather pricey rent? I love that they’re giving out credit score discounts. Halsey and Marcy Nostrand AC

hey, pick of the week is “bed stuy reno” from brownstoner. it looks great.
OH!!! That explains the deja vu! Thanks Auntie!
The owners of 191 Halsey think a photo of wall tile and a shot of the floor in front of the fireplace are the carrots that are going to lure in would-be renters? No wonder why they didn’t sell any units.
personally, i find the ad for 191 halsey obnoxious. they’re quick to put out their criteria for ideal tenants yet don’t even provide actual pictures? i’d skip right over that if i was looking and i’m an ideal tenant for that spot.
pic of the week is lovely.
