Today I decided to stick to rentals along Bedford Avenue. Not surprisingly, there is a YMCA effect–the closer you are to the Y the more you’re gonna pay.
RENTALS

#1 — $1600 — 3 BR: Nice price for a 3 bedroom. It’s renovated and located on a strip that has everything you need–and by that I mean a decent grocery store (Foodtown), a thrift store (Not Just Vintage) and a cafe (bushbaby). Worth it even if it turns out to really be a 2.5 bedroom.
Fulton and Bedford Nostrand AC
#2 — $1100 —1 BR: In the same vicinity as the previous apartment, and it has new appliances and a renovated kitchen and bath. If the blurry photo isn’t going to sell you on the apartment, then the price should. Halsey and Bedford Nostrand AC
#3 — $1400 — 1 BR: I’m getting a strong sense of deja vu on this one. Anyway, it includes use of the backyard, and although that information is absolutely worthless right now, you’ll be grateful for that backyard come spring. Madison and Bedford Bedford-Nostrand G/Franklin CS
#4 — $2095 — 3 BR: The good thing about this apartment is that it has 2 full bathrooms, it’s near the YMCA and it’s close to the arty, Pratty section of the hood. That extra bath and the Y really pushes the price skyward. Lexington and Bedford Bedford-Nostrand G
#5 — $2500 — 3 BR: This one is a stone’s throw from the YMCA, it has 2 baths and a washer/dryer included in the unit. Wonderful amenities, but I’m not sure if it justifies the price. The kitchen island is a little unusual and the reno seems to have been done with frugality in mind. Keep looking. Monroe and Bedford Bedford-Nostrand G/Franklin CS
SALES
Beautiful sunny loft! I want! I want! (Sales #1)
PICK OF THE WEEK!
#1 — $499,999 — LOFT: What can I say? I’m a sucker for large windows that bring in tons of sunlight. These long, dark, northern winters have done this to me. This apartment is located in the Chocolate Factory Lofts and it is just gorgeous. The unit comes with a washer/dryer and an outdoor space, plus there is a rooftop gym and a shared roofdeck as well.
Myrtle and Bedford Myrtle-Willoughby G
#2 — $199,000 — 1.5 BR: I had to break away from this week’s Bedford Avenue theme to show you this one: an adorable apartment, priced right! Perfect for a first time homebuyer who is tired of paying rent. This is one of the nicest looking affordable condos I’ve seen in the area, so I hope that this is not a typo. You’d be near the music venues and the J train on Broadway. Not sure if it’ll get better than this. Take the plunge. Now. Stuyvesant and Kosciuszko Kosciuszko J
