#1 — $1050 — 1 BR: I don’t know if I’d call this apartment “suite-like.” I’d probably choose words like “plain”, “clean” or “all white.” In any case, the price is nice and the apartment is located an area where there are beautiful tree-lined blocks. Being close to Fulton Street is a plus.
Halsey and Throop Kingston-Throop C
#2 — $1700 —2.5 BR: This is a nice South Stuy apartment in a good looking building. It’s practically a stone’s throw from the train station and you’ve got the convenience of Fulton Street and (even better) the shops on Lewis Avenue nearby. Decatur and Throop Kingston-Throop C
#3 — $1500 — 2 BR: This one has nice large windows that let in lots of light. The rest of the apartment isn’t anything special, but the windows make it worth the price. You’re close to Broadway, with its discount shops, fast food eateries and live music venues.
Lexington and Stuyvesant Gates JZ
#1 — $247,000 — 2 family: This one is in the far eastern reaches of the neighborhood, but the price is amazingly low. This semi-detached home is being sold as is and it needs work, but I can see the potential in this one. If you’re handy, then this house could be for you.

PICK OF THE WEEK!
#2 — $? — 3 family: This is the Pick of the Week because it is a short sale and you might be able to get a deal here and save the owner from foreclosure. According to the email that I received about this house, the owner got overwhelmed clearing out the SRO tenants who wouldn’t leave and ran out of money. (He does have a certificate of nonharassment, though.) The house needs work, but it has some great potential and it is on a block that is in the process of being landmarked. This house was once listed at $859,000 and later at $799,000 and more recently at $729,000, but at this point they will consider any offers. If you’re interested, you can contact their lawyer, Phil Lavender, at Marcus Attorneys in Fort Greene (ph. 718-643-6694). Brownstoner has featured this house twice in the last year: once in August 2008 and again in October. Click over to read what commenters were saying about this place.

your real estate picks continue to crack me up. please don’t ever stop writing them!
Thanks laduchessa! I couldn’t find any really funny ones this week. I keep looking for the listings trifecta: an ad with misspellings, bad photos AND outlandish pricing. For the past couple of weeks I’ve haven’t found anything. Maybe next week…
Can you please tell me what the live music events on broadway are?
Here are some of the places that I know about:
1) Market Hotel (music venue on the corner of Myrtle and Broadway):

2) Goodbye Blue Monday is located 1087 Broadway near Pulaski St. Their live music lineup can be found here:

3) Todd P is a concert promoter who does a great job promoting indie bands and live shows in the general area:

There used to be a place called Micheline’s. I’ve never been there and I’m not sure if it’s still around. It was located at 1124 Broadway at Kosciuszko St. They used to have live shows that Todd P promoted. Couldn’t find a website for them but their phone number is (or was) 718-453-0400.
