Wildflower Spotting

Coreopsis that I (or my seed-bombing partner) planted in a vacant lot.

I spent this month looking for wildflowers in the area that I seed-bombed during the Bed-Stuy Meadow project. I’ve seen a few flowers here and there–not quite the burst of color that I was hoping for–but I’m still keeping an eye on my seed-bombed lots. Alexa seems to have found a lot of Bed-Stuy Meadow wildflowers in her area. Have any of you seen wildflower blossoms this month?

21st Century Plowshare has set up a Bed-Stuy Meadow Flickr Pool with an identification guide, so if you’ve spotted any wildflowers, be sure to snap a photo and submit it to the pool. You can read about 21st Century Plowshare’s success in finding wildflower blossoms by clicking here.
