A stroll down Malcolm X Boulevard this weekend revealed more print ad promotions of City Council candidates. Some ads were placed in storefront windows and bodega entrances. A couple of stores showed no particular endorsement, since their windows displayed two or even three ads.

More competition for the seat for the 36th District. Candidate David Grinage sports a confident pose, printed on glossy stock in a promotions sized dimension.
And William Carrington is also running for the District 36 seat. His print ad campaign uses a sans serif font on what appears to be a deep grayish blue background.
Here are the candidates vying for the 41st District seat–the seat incumbent Darlene Mealy holds. First, Anthony “Tony” Herbert uses blue and gold tones and strikes an arms folded pose. The type of print media is full color on letter sized paper.

And the campaign for Tulani Kinard features a full colored headshot with a rich layout that looks like a magazine cover.
There are other print ads of candidates running for various offices, but these posts will focus on the ones affecting Bed-Stuy.

Tracy Boyland is also running in the 41st. Got a postcard on our windshield the other evening.
I think it’s funny how everyone is using the buzzword “change.”
Wouldn’t it be funny if Al Vann’s poster said “Vote for Change. Vote Al Vann.” LOL
If you don’t know which city council district you live in, there’s an online search:

which is how I found out I’m in the 36th district. No election signs around here though. Maybe there just aren’t enough shopfronts.
