Kumble Theater Presents Scribblin’ at the Automat

Here’s an interesting new show at the Kumble Theatre in Fort Greene:

Set in the 1950’s, Scribblin’ at the Automat explores the relationship and friendship between iconic writer James Baldwin and famed fashion photographer Richard Avedon and their musings on race, class, sex, and celebrity. The legendary Bronx natives also bring to life through their encounters a host of other cultural icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Josephine Baker, and Jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie.
