Last Hurrah at 123 Tompkins

This is so sad.  The folks at 123 Community Space are being evicted at the end of the month, so they’ve decided to hold a final, all night bash on their last night in the space.  The party is on Wednesday, September 30th at 9:00 p.m.  There will be tunes from Hype Wonder and Crew and DJ Solidarity vs DJ Commodity.

123 Community Space has done so many wonderful things in the community, from free bike workshops for children to free afterschool programs to political prisoner letter writing dinners.  Here’s hoping they are able to find another space nearby.

I’d say it’s not sad at all. You should see the thousands of dollars these hooligans caused in damages when they left. Sledgehammered walls, smashed toilets. Multiple gallons of paint thrown everywhere, and every piece of glass broken. Good Riddance “Community Space” 123. Thanks for leaving a bombed out mess of a property on my block.

That place was a bombed out mess before 123 moved in. My guess is that they were just trying to leave the place as they found it.

unless they bought the fridge, all the windows, the shower, the toilet and all the drywall (which you could tell was old, you could see the years and layers of paint on it, after they’d put the sledgehammer through it) I’d say they left it worse than when they got there. Not to mention the piles of garbage and bikes they left in the backyard.
