Tasty Morsels Bakery Delivers Sweet Treats

Crystal of Tasty Morsels

On Saturday, Alexa and I got a chance to meet Crystal Horton, the owner of a new online bakery called Tasty Morsels. Crystal has been serving up yummy, artistic cookies for about 9 months now. The Kentucky native originally came to New York City to get an MFA (she’s a Parsons grad), but she has always had a passion for baking. I have to say that she makes some of the prettiest, most adorable cookies. It was almost–almost!–a shame to eat them.

The cookies come wrapped in a pretty ribbon.

These cookies could win a beauty pageant!

The almond-maple flavored sugar cookies are based on a family recipe, but Crystal noted she has tweaked it considerably. The cookies she baked with her mom back home were not frosted, for example.

And yes, those metallic beads are edible!

              Mmmmmmm

Her cookies can come in any of variety of designs. She showed us pictures of cookies for weddings and baby showers, and she even showed us a pic of a portrait cookie that she made for a friend of hers who is getting married.

More of Crystal’s creative cookies. Lovin’ the shoes!

So how does an online bakery work? You can visit the Tasty Morsel’s website and simply place an order. You can even order samples. There are many designs to choose from but after seeing the cookies she made for us, I’m sure she could probably create just about any size, shape or style you can dream up. Just give her two weeks’ notice (a month for Christmas/holiday events) so she has time to whip them up for you. Delivery is free in Manhattan and Brooklyn, but Tasty Morsels can ship cookies to any location in the U.S.

This photo was taken mere minutes after the full box photo.

We HIGHLY recommend Tasty Morsels! Be sure to check it out!
