I was walking along Myrtle the other day and I saw this vacant lot with crime tape wrapped along the fence. The lot, between Nostrand and Marcy, has seen its share of illegal dumping, but I started to think that maybe something worse had happened there. Was someone shot there? Did someone find a dead body in there? (A dismembered body was found a couple of blocks from this location a month ago, so it’s not an unreasonable assumption.)
When I got closer, I noticed that the tape read, “A Crime is Being Committed.” It was an ad for Michael Moore’s movie, Capitalism: A Love Story! Given the amount of mortgage fraud in our neighborhood, they probably should’ve strung that yellow tape all along Flushing, down Broadway, across Atlantic and back up Classon.
I was planning to see Capitalism: A Love Story this week. I really like Michael Moore, so I know I’m going to enjoy this movie. Has anyone else seen it yet?
Capitalism: A Love Story is currently playing at BAM Rose Cinemas, 30 Lafayette Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.

This TOTALLY beats the fake RE broker signs advertising Cougar Town! (spotted in Carroll Gardens, by me, anyway)
Best advertising I’ve seen in awhile!
