After four years of tireless organizing, Restoration succeeded in realizing the Bed-Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District, which was signed into law at an official public ceremony with Mayor Bloomberg and local business leaders on March 30, 2009.
With a budget of $675,000, more than double that of the average BID, Bed Stuy Gateway went live October 1 providing sanitation and marketing services to local businesses and property owners. In the coming months, the BID will expand services to include District-wide promotions, a public safety program, and landscaping and beautification efforts along Fulton and Nostrand.

Hooray!!!! I’m looking forward to landscaping and beautification. This is wonderful news.
And hopefully, consistency and standardization of storefronts. I am tired of those tacky awnings.
