A few days ago I received an email newsletter from the House of Art and immediately got excited. As a huge fan of Hip Hop and urban art, it was a true pleasure to learn that Bed-Stuy’s very own House of Art is going to feature the works of a couple of the most prominent urban artists and photographers – Frank Morrison and Brooklyn’s native son, Jamel Shabazz. Mr. Shabazz’s “A Time Before Crack” and “Back in the Days” are a frequent visitor on many coffee tables in my circle of friends. For anybody who is interested in seeing a true taste of Brooklyn and urban art, feel free to join in the celebration of these two artists. I will certainly be there, with camera in-tow!
