This week’s commercial property for rent takes us to 180/180A Ralph Avenue, between Macon and MacDonough Streets. It appears the property can serve as two smaller businesses or can be converted to one unit, as there is a door that separates the two. Both rentals have hardwood floors. The larger of the two has a brick exposed wall. It’s another opportunity for a pioneering entrepreneur or an alternative start-up. Ralph Avenue is a commercial strip with potential. The B47 bus serves those who use public transport, especially for straphangers who ride the bus to the C train Ralph Avenue stop. The contact number listed is (917) 837-2883 Anyone know what used to be here? If you live nearby, what kind of business would you like to see here?
UPDATE 4/8/2010: This commerical property has been rented. It will soon become (drum roll please) a day care center. The East Stuy really needs another day care center. Really.

Maybe a small cafe with wi-fi

A smallish grocery store would be nice. Like a step up from the crappy bodegas on every corner. There aren’t enough places to buy groceries in the area, and the closest supermarket on Malcolm X is small and smells bad.

Yes to a small food market. Hope someone can make it happen!

I never noticed that much foot traffic along Ralph avenue, despite the bus and the walk to the C. But yeah, a quality food market would be beneficial.
