Drive for the Stuy

This year ARISE Collective, Malcolm X Pizzeria, and Bed Stuy Campaign Against Hunger are literally taking it to the streets this year for a food and clothing drive on Saturday, December 19th from 12-5pm. It will be held right outside the pizzeria which is located at 352 Malcolm X Boulevard.
There will be live enterainment and DJs from 2-4pm, as well as a moment of silence at sundown for Antoine Stokes, Steven Hill, Derrick Henry, and Jahlal Lee, young men from the neighborhood who were senselessy gunned down this past year.
Please stop by and drop off all sizes of gently worn clothing and non-perishable food and enjoy the sounds!

We dropped some clothes off at the drive on Saturday. They got a great response, despite the bad weather. One of the organizers came out and thanked us. It’s great to have this kind of stuff going on in the neighborhood. (also visited Brooklynite Gallery, which is just the BEST.)

Thanks for coming out! We definitely did get a good response. We had trouble getting it all in the van that came to pick everything up! We’ll be doing this again in the spring (when the weather is more DJ-friendly
