New Art on the Malcolm X Street Canvas

New black and white contrast art on the abandoned storefronts on Malcolm X Boulevard, between Macon & MacDonough Streets.  I don’t know when this was painted, but it wasn’t there a few weeks ago as I can recall.  Does anyone know more about what inspired this or the artist?

Can’t shed any light as to the ‘when’,,but always happy to see a new addition of the blvd.

Given it’s current storefront vacancy situation MZBlvd always has seemed ideal to become a ALL MURALS ALL THE TIME kinda thang.

Hope this new mural spawns,,,,,,fast and furious.

I agree, I hope more of these murals appear. I wish all vacant storefronts (especially those with hideous pull-down metal contraptions) were festooned with art.

Thanks! I was trying to help answer The Progressive Southside’s question, so I looked up “Shaed” hoping to find some information but nothing came up. I never would’ve noticed the Gaia signature, so thank you for pointing it out! TPS will be happy to know find out who the artist is.

good looking out GS3! note that i also searched shaed (and coucho too!). i thought the gaia signature was from artwork a few “layers” back. gaia’s artwork replaces a very colorful mural done by remed (i believe). this space would be a great association for the brooklynite gallery, which is right down the street.

@Brooklynite Gallery looking forward to the next show. I live right around the corner from those storefronts and I think this is a great way to let the neighborhood know that the next exhibit is coming soon.
