New Year, New Art

A few days before the new year I noticed that this bodega on Myrtle Avenue had gotten a new mural on its exterior. The original facade was a horrible color of red, what could only be described as a Blood Stain Red or an I Got Shot In Front of the Bodega And I’m Bleeding To Death Red. I was waiting years for them to get a new paint job and choose a new color, and they managed to update their murals on the side of the bodega, but they never really changed the color of the storefront. I kinda like this new mural. I’m not too keen on the fetus, though — it reminds me of a Right to Life poster or something – but I’m happy to see the bright colors. It’s signed by JK of Quarantine Studios. Thanks, JK.

I don’t think it’s meant ot be a right-to-life fetus, because that’s a lotus blossom, which signifies rebirth. But I know what you mean.
