UPDATE: THE BED-STUY FARM SHARE APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!
Want a consistent place to get farm fresh produce? Don’t miss your opportunity to join Bed-Stuy Farm Share for the 2010 growing season. Members may purchase “subscriptions” of vegetables, fruit, and eggs sourced from local farms and delivered directly to Bed-Stuy. Members pick up their produce weekly or bi-weekly from June through October. This is their fifth year making quality, affordable local produce available in the neighborhood and they are excited to announce some changes they think you’ll enjoy:
Two pick-up locations (Bread-Stuy & a house at Quincy & Throop) and two-pick-up dates (Tuesdays & Wednesdays).
The vegetable farmers have formed a producers cooperative, so that they have less stress of cultivating 30 different vegetables and less risk of total crop failure. There is a farmers cooperative from Vermont (led byAfrikan Zion Organic Roots Farm) supplying the Tuesday pick-up and Conuco Farm is working with other local producers to supply the Wednesday pick-up.
The season is being extended to 22 weeks.
They now have direct trade coffee available.
Download the member application from their website at http://www.bedstuyfarmshare.org
They have a limited number of spots so don’t delay sending in your application. If you have any questions or would like for them to make a presentation at your block association, place of worship, school or other organization, please contact them at 718.783.8443.

I’ve been a member of the Bed-Stuy Farm Share for a couple of years, and I love it! Are most of you members of the farm share? How do you like being a member?
