The Discover Bed-Stuy Expo 4th Annual Neighborhood and Resource Expo takes place tomorrow, June 10th at Boys and Girls High School at 1700 Fulton Street (between Schenectady and Utica Avenues). This event is open to the public to inform Bedford-Stuyvesant residents of the variety of programs and services available in the community that can assist people in areas such as healthcare, affordable housing, children services and many more. In addition the expo will provide workshops on job preparation, avoiding home foreclosure and starting your own business.
The event kicks off at 11:00 am with the students of Boys and Girls High School marching from the Old Boys High School (at 832 Putnam) to Boys and Girls High School in celebration of Boys and Girls Pride Day. They’ll have music and other activities on the school grounds until 2:00 pm.
The expo will continue with a community forum and the opening of the 4th Annual Shopping Bazaar where local merchants are gathered in a central location to market their merchandise to Bed-Stuy Expo attendees. In addition the food court will provide discounted meals from some of the best restaurants in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
“The Discover Bed-Stuy Expo is a great day for people of all ages to come out and discover the richness of the community. Come to learn, network, shop and have fun!” says event chair Michael Bailey.
