Fulton Flea Market’s Awning

Did anyone notice when the Fulton Flea Market (1425 Fulton Street at Brooklyn Avenue) awning was erected?   It’s been up for almost a month now.  The market was signless for quite awhile prior.  Is it possible the owners were thinking there would be some competition with the recent debut of The Market at Bedford Village, located just two block west?   While the Bedford Village Market is opened on the weekends, Fulton Flea Market is opened every day.  Do you shop at the Fulton Flea Market or have you shopped at both markets?  How would you compare them?

    I was just in the vicinity two days ago, and didn’t notice the new signage. Maybe because it blends in with cacophony of other signage along Fulton. They may have been better served without the sign. In any event, I’ve never been there. I went to the Bedford market, but it was on its opening day so there were very few people or vendors there. From what I can tell from your recent pictures, it has picked up quite a bit.

    Don’t waste your time. It’s just vendors selling knock-offs and stuff not good enough for the 99Cents store.

    I noticed the new awning when I left Foodtown this evening. The problem with that flea market is, it just looks like they’re selling junk. There maybe some quality items deeper inside. However the vendors in front are selling the same items I’ve seen in discount stores along Fulton street. Since they set the tone, I never explore to find what’s deeper inside. I look forward to checking out the Bedford Village. Is it happening this weekend?

    @babs – I agree.

    That awning has me yawning. It looks very dollar store to me.

    @babs: I can’t tell if The Market at Bedford Village will take place this weekend. Apparently they were open last night (with music!). They’re on Facebook, so maybe they’ll announce the next weekend that they will be open there:

    Thanks Changeling. I was just checking in to see if there was any feed back on Bedford Village. I have guests staying with me from DC and I was going to stop by on Sunday.
    @ Laurel B, hopefully these vendors will become inspired by Bedford Village. Hahaha…. I know, I’m kidding myself. LOL!
