NYC Green Carts in Bed-Stuy

Have you seen the NYC Green Carts around the neighborhood? NYC Green Carts are mobile carts that sell produce at really cheap prices. There are several in Bed-Stuy that are there regularly but because they are mobile, there is no guarantee that they will be at a particular location. The New York City Health Department is hoping that by promoting them more and getting them more business, the Green Carts will be more likely to stay put and increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables in the neighborhood. We’re trying to spread the word so that you’ll know where to find them.

Here are a few of the consistent NYC Green Cart locations in Bed-Stuy:

Nostrand and Macon

Nostrand and Lafayette

Throop and Fulton

Utica and Fulton

Herkimer and Nostrand

Fulton and Nostrand

I know that I’ve also seen one of the NYC Green Carts around Nostrand and Myrtle, although it’s not always there. Are there any others in the neighborhood that I’ve left out?

In the past I’ve seen a green cart on Nostrand just south of Dekalb (by CABS nursing home) but I don’t know if he’s always there.

The guy at Nostrand/Myrtle never has enough change. Once he said he didn’t have enough to give change to me (Im talking $6) and so he had to give me a dollar less and so many pennies in change too. – :( . Not cool.
