If you’ve been wondering about this new business opening in the neighborhood, here’s your chance to find out more: SCRATCHbread, now occupying the former Focaccino space on Bedford Ave at Lexington, will have a preview of its walk-up window “hot toast menu” this Sunday: toasted stuffed savory muffins, griddled chai sticky buns and what is described only as “other morsels of deliciousness.”
In addition to the toasted goods, there will be Brooklyn Soda Works seasonal soda on tap, wine courtesy of Chestnut restaurant, and local produce from BK Farmyards (whether that’s on its own or incorporated into morsels of deliciousness I don’t know). Sounds promising, right?

it sounds very promising, and let me just say that i have spoken to many friends + neighbors who are beyond happy that scratchbread is setting up shop in our neighborhood!! won’t be able to make it sunday, but will be there when the doors open for real. when is that?
hey, sorry you missed the gathering on Sunday! we’re happy to be in Bed-Stuy and it was great to meet some folks from the ‘hood. But we want to say that we’re primarily wholesale, and that the retail window that is part of our space (and general plan) isn’t something we can swing on a regular basis without some equipment upgrades…we’re a pretty small operation and need help from the community in order to get this part of SCRATCHbread up and running. check out a pic from Sunday (ridiculously good griddled chai sticky bun) + details: http://bit.ly/dvBfW8
