Cinnamon Girl Opens on Nostrand

When I first heard about a new place called Cinnamon Girl opening on Nostrand I thought, “Hooray, another hair salon.” Luckily I was wrong. Cinnamon Girl is a neat little spot near the corner of Nostrand and Clifton next door to Tiny Cup.

The all organic shop offers hot beverages, muffins, scones, cookies and cakes and grocery items like Irish oatmeal, peanut butter and chips. They sell Meyers cleaning products too.

The groceries are located in crates that are mounted like shelves along the back walls. So cute! I think the westside has finally gotten its own Tin City! Please check this new addition to the hood. The owner is extremely friendly. I chatted with him briefly but I didn’t ask him where the shop’s name came from. I like to think it came from a song title. Cue Neil Young!

Love it! The owner told me that they are going to continue increasing the stock as they feel out where the demands are. So speak up! They have delicious vegan sandwiches + muffins, and soon organic eggs, more produce, and they are getting a license to sell beer. Btw, the coffee is Deli priced, but soo delcious and only 1.00. Yay.

Yes! Stopped in the other day and met Blaze. Super nice staff person there. I have a short term furnished apartment right next door – this is perfect for my guests. The prepared sandwiches work nicely as do the select grocery items. I would LOVE for them to get wifi so I can let guests know they can pop in briefly to check email..

The place looks very nice, simple and efficient. Great prices. No need to go all out and have to end up overcharging the merchandise. I would like it if more places like this would open up.

  4. Glad to see more shops like this opening. Bed-Stuy is redefining the bodega for themselves.

This place sounds really neat. I’ve only been living in Bed Stuy for 2 weeks and I have been exploring various places in Brooklyn. I’ll be sure to check this place out.
