Hey, it hasn’t snowed in over 24 hours and it still looks pretty much like this on my block. Has your block been plowed yet? The Mayor is making his excuses on air right now.

No #snowpocalypse for me! One of the advantages of living on a main thoroughfare is plow preference during snowstorms. This almost makes up for the major disadvantages: noise and trash everywhere in the summer.
I knew I’d regret buying on a “tertiary block” one day.
LOL! I just learned these terms as they apply to streets thanks to the New York Times. I guess I live on an “artery”.
I know the plows haven’t come through, but did someone actually leave their stairs like that??
My little block has been forgotten by Bloomberg. I do see that half the street has been shoveled by hand, thanks to the neighbors who had to get their cars out of the middle of the street. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll help shovel the other half. If I feel up to it.

it’s wed. and my block was only plowed for the first time at midnight last night. i called the 79th yesterday after not getting through to 311, and the officer said that even they, who work for the government, were amazed at the lack of communication and response by the city, that the streets around the station hadn’t been plowed, making it close to impossible to do their jobs.
i will say, though, it’s been lovely sleeping in silence for 3 days!
