St. Nick’s Workforce Development (790 Broadway, close to the Flushing stop on the J and M) does free tax prep. They offer free tax preparation for those without dependents with incomes less than $25,000, and for those with dependents with income less than $50,000. They take tax clients Monday-Friday from 9am-12pm and every other Saturday from 8:30-10:00am (the last two Saturdays will be April 2nd, and April 16th). The tax preparers are IRS certified and have already filed over 1,000 returns and gotten clients close to $2 million in refunds. Those wishing to get their taxes done need to bring Social Security cards for everyone on the return, photo ID, their W-2s and other tax documents for 2010, and bank account and routing numbers if they wish to receive their refund by direct deposit.
